Ford India recalls its latest EcoSport (Diesel Variant) almost within a month of its launch following small instrument defect.


Ford compact SUV EcoSport's success had hit a small bump. The Company has decided to recall diesel variants of EcoSport in India to repair minor defects in the component which aids in starting the engine.

The following statement was issued by Ford India on Thursday, " As part of routine checks, we discovered a potential concern with EcoSport diesel variants related to the Glow Plug Module which requires relocating the module. We are contacting customers to take their vehicle to their Ford dealership to have the work carried out ".

Toyota back to number one position, displacing GM.

According to numbers released by two major automakers, Toyota and General Motors, Toyota takes a back to its number one position, overtaking GM.

According to the release data, Toyota sold more than 4.97 million vehicles globally in the first half of 2012. GM lost the race by selling 300,000 less cars. Both the companies released the stats on Wednesday.

Thieves exploit BMW security loopholes, takes less than 180 seconds to hack it.


There has been unusual rise in cases of high end car theft, particularly BMWs. According to an estimate, the number may be 300 cars or higher. Most of them were stolen without tripping out car alarm or immobilizers.

Experts says the suspected method carrying out this type of auto thefts involves the use of devices that plug into car’s OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) port can program blank key fobs.
Once access to the vehicle is gained, the thieves connect a device to the car's OBD-II connector which gives them access to the car's unique key fob digital ID, allowing them to program a blank key fob to work with the car right then and there.

Japanese automaker comes up with Mini Electric Sports Car called EV Mini Sport.



It’s time for some eco-friendly auto news. Tajima Motor Corporation, Japan based auto-maker has developed a zero-emission mini sports car, calling it, EV Mini Sport. The concept of this model car was shown in early 2010, and the company says that it will ready for consumption very soon.

With single charge, you can run it for 30 KMs, when powered by 40Ah lithium-ion polymer battery. The range (mileage) will differ when it will be powered by 80Ah or 120Ah battery, which company may offer with different variant (Trim).
