Ford compact SUV EcoSport's success had hit a small bump. The Company has decided to recall diesel variants of EcoSport in India to repair minor defects in the component which aids in starting the engine.

The following statement was issued by Ford India on Thursday, " As part of routine checks, we discovered a potential concern with EcoSport diesel variants related to the Glow Plug Module which requires relocating the module. We are contacting customers to take their vehicle to their Ford dealership to have the work carried out ".

Land Rover lifted the covers off its Freelander 2 with a new redesign, a revised 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine.

The exterior of the 2011 Freelander 2 has been updated with a redesigned front bumper assembly, a new and less pronounced front grille aligned with the hood, revised headlamps and tail lights, a full width tailgate appliqué and new 18- or 19-inch alloy wheel designs.

Inside, you can see revised instrument dials and four new seat styles with the option of a Premium Pack that also includes Windsor Leather upholstery, an 8/6 way electric seat, plus unique carpet mats and covered center stowage.

The biggest change is in the engine bay with the introduction of a revised version of the 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine featuring a new variable geometry turbocharger.

Nissan has issued a notification to recall for its Patrol model which they had sold more than thousand units in the Middle East, citing electrical problems that could affect the engine's fuel supply leading to engine stalls.

According to Monal Zeidan, the general manager of marketing and communications for Nissan Middle East, there are problems with an integrated circuit inside the vehicle's electronic control module (ECM). Zeidan goes on to say that if the ECM fails the fuel injectors could stop working and the engine may stop. Owners of the 1,250 affected vehicles in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are being asked to visit their dealerships to have a revised ECM installed.

(Bloomberg) When the all new Ford Explorer 2011 will go on sale in this December, Ford will ask buyers of its redesigned 2011 Explorer to pay a premium for a small 4-cylinder engine. The Explorer's standard engine will be a 3.5-liter V-6 with 290 horsepower, 53 more ponies than the optional 4-cylinder.

The V-6 version of the new Explorer will have a base price of $28,995, including delivery, or about $1,000 below the current Explorer. The Limited model will have a starting price of $37,995. Pricing on the optional EcoBoost engine, which will be available in early 2011, has not been released.

Ford hopes to convince consumers they should spend to save when it unveils the Explorer at events in New York, Chicago and other locations today. The smaller engine has technology Ford said will give the seven-passenger SUV the same fuel economy as Toyota Motor Corp.'s Camry sedan that gets 19 mpg in city driving and 26 mpg on the highway. That's more than 30 percent better than the 2010 Explorer.
