Italian scooter manufacturer, Vespa, re-enters India after 13 long years.

With ever expanding auto market, the iconic Vespa has decided to re-enter the India market with a stylish range of Vespa scooters. The Scooters were displayed at Delhi Auto Expo by its parent company, Piaggio.
The Italio designed scooters sporting 125cc engines will be available in the India market from March. This will be the first such venture of Piaggio in India without a local partner. And here is brief history of Vespa in India. More than four decades ago, Piaggio licensed the production of Vespa scooters to Bajaj Auto Ltd. The joint venture ended in 1971, and the company partnered with LML Motors in 1983 to make and sell scooters in India. It exited the venture in 1999, when LML acquired Piaggio's stake.

Invented in 1946 as the world's first scooter, the Vespa rose rapidly in popularity due to its unique Italian engineering and design.
